Silk Damask is a reversible patterned fabric of Silk with a pattern formed by weaving. Damasks are woven with one warp yarn and weft yarn, usually with the pattern in warp -faced satin weave and the ground in weft faced or sateen weave. The pattern is woven into the fabric unlike a print or embroidery on fabric. Firm lustrous fabric made with flat patterns in a satin weave on a plain woven ground on jacquard looms. Modern damasks are woven on computerized jacquard looms. Damask weave is used extensively throughout the furnishing industry due to its versatility and high quality finish.
